Summary of Aim

Save Our Post Offices

Full Text of Petition

To: Cllr Mark Alcock,

25 Cape Gardens,

Oldham,

OL2 8PD

The Labour Government has ordered 2500 more Post Offices to be closed throughout the country. 17 have already been closed by Labour in Oldham Borough alone.

Labour are now closing the following eight Post Offices in Oldham Borough:

The affected Post Offices in Oldham are:

Egerton Street, Oldham

Buckstones Road, Shaw

Lower Rushcroft, Shaw

Grasscroft, 77 Oldham Road

Greenacres, 52 Huddersfield Road

699 Rippendon Road, Moorside

Lees, 38 High Street

Scouthead, Huddersfield Road.

Labour have already closed 4,500 Post Office on top of the 3,500 closed by the Conservatives.

The Lib Dems recognize that more closures are on their way and we must put a stop to all closures across the country immediately. Oldham Borough Liberal Democrats are campaigning to stop the closure of each of the eight Post Offices directly threatened locally, while the Lib Dems nationally are campaigning to put a moratorium on all 2500 post offices facing the axe.

-------------------

I/we the undersigned call on the Labour Government to stop the closure of our eight local post offices and other post offices threatened across Britain.

We need more post offices, not more cuts.
